SophonTex is an AI learning platform for families and students. We handle personal information clearly, with restraint and in ways we can explain: enabling guardians to manage family learning and students to use learning tools safely, while avoiding unnecessary collection and public disclosure.

Only what is necessary

We collect only information necessary to provide learning, account, security and customer support services.

Students first

Student learning data is not public by default. It belongs to a household and a specific student, not a public identity.

Guardian control

Guardians create the household, manage student profiles and approve student devices accessing the learning space.

Secure operations

Permission separation, access controls, auditing and rate limits protect accounts and learning data.

Information we collect

Different features need different information. We aim to make collection purposes clear and avoid turning student learning data into public identity information.

Account and household details

Guardian accounts, contact details, household settings, student names or nicknames, grades and learning preferences, used for sign-in, authorization, plans and reports.

Learning activity data

Tasks, progress, work, reports and necessary learning records in modules such as Agenda, Tutor, Reader, Review and Lab.

AI learning content

Content entered for questions, reading, review, expression or creation, and AI-generated feedback. Identifiable student information is not made public by default.

Device and security logs

Sign-in status, device information, IP addresses, browsers, action times, error logs and risk-control records for security, troubleshooting and abuse prevention.

How we use information

Provide sign-in, household management, student device authorization and learning module services.
Generate learning plans, daily or stage reports, reading records, review feedback and growth suggestions.
Improve stability, learning experiences and security controls, preferring aggregated or de-identified data for analysis.
Handle feedback, account support, security incidents, compliance requests and necessary notifications.

We do not sell personal information or share identifiable student learning data for third-party advertising. If infrastructure, email notifications, AI services, security operations or customer support require service providers to process data on our behalf, we require them to protect it under our agreements and applicable law.

Protecting accounts and student data

Security measures cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work continually to reduce unauthorized access, misuse, disclosure and abuse.

Separate identities

Guardian accounts and student device sessions are managed separately. Student devices need guardian authorization to enter the learning space.

Student data boundaries

Learning records are assigned to and isolated by household and individual student for plans, tasks, reports and authorization. They are not public student profiles or part of a guardian account's public identity.

Guardian visibility

Guardians can view plans, progress and reports needed to manage learning, but do not by default see verbatim private student conversations, original learning materials or private Pet memories.

Access controls

Internal access follows least-privilege principles, with necessary audit records for sensitive actions.

Transmission and storage

The website uses HTTPS. Accounts, sessions and key services use security configurations and monitoring.

Content protection

Private student conversations, original learning materials and Pet memories are not displayed on public home pages.

Release safety

When security, compliance or content risks arise, we may pause relevant features, disable high-risk services or return to a more conservative experience.

Incident response

We handle and give notice of security incidents that may affect users' rights and interests in a timely manner under applicable law.

AI use

Without separate consent, identifiable student personal information will not be used to train public general-purpose models.

Learning records, points, challenges, reports and AI learning activity records belong to the student, not the guardian account or a public profile identity.
Guardians can view plans, tasks, reports and safety summaries needed for learning management, but not verbatim private student conversations by default.
Platform activity records, information passed between learning tools and consolidated analytics records must not contain original prompts, complete answers, private notes or identifiable original learning content.
We can urgently disable high-risk features, limit their availability or restore earlier versions to protect users when problems arise.

Protecting children and minors

Guardians create and manage SophonTex household accounts. Minors should use the student learning space with guardian knowledge and authorization. Guardians can add, edit or delete student profiles, approve or revoke device access and view plans, tasks and reports relevant to learning management.

Original student learning materials, conversations, private memories and learning processes are not public by default. If public showcases, sharing, community or work-publishing features are introduced in the future, they will include separate visibility settings, review and withdrawal mechanisms.

Your choices and rights requests

Access, correct or supplement account, household and student information.
Request export, deletion or restricted processing of relevant personal information.
Withdraw nonessential authorizations or close student device sessions no longer in use.
Delete your account or submit privacy and security requests to us.

We process requests after verifying the account and household relationship. Some data may need to be retained for a reasonable period for account security, dispute resolution, backup recovery, legal obligations or auditing.

In-app account deletion

SophonReader iOS/iPadOS users can open Reading Settings > Support & Legal > Account Management > Delete Sophon Account in the app. After identity verification, they can directly request permanent deletion without separately contacting support.
If the person deleting the account is the household's only guardian, the account, student profiles, reading progress, vocabulary, notes and other learning data exclusively owned by that household are permanently deleted. If other guardians remain, jointly managed student profiles and learning data remain available to them.
Deletion revokes student device sessions authorized by that guardian and clears account credentials and Reader caches in the current app installation.
Necessary payment transaction or security audit records may be retained for a limited period to meet financial, tax, dispute-resolution and other legal obligations. Retained records are detached from the deleted account's active identity, with restricted purposes and access.

Cookies, analytics and changes

We use cookies or similar technologies to keep users signed in, record language preferences, maintain security and understand page visit quality. We do not target third-party advertising based on student learning profiles.

When this privacy and security notice changes significantly, we update the effective date on this page. We use appropriate means to notify users of major changes to collection or use.
